Living Room I
A layered, hand-burnished lime finish with depth, movement, and a soft sheen. Applied over walls, ceilings, and architectural details for a look no paint can replicate.
Living rooms and baths where a flat painted surface was replaced by a hand-burnished Venetian plaster finish - deeper, warmer, alive to the light.
Venetian plaster is a centuries-old technique built from thin, hand-applied layers of lime-based material. At Facade, we mix pigments directly into the plaster so the color lives inside the surface rather than sitting on top. Each coat is troweled, dried, and burnished before the next goes on - a slow process that produces the depth, marbling, and soft internal glow the finish is known for.
The result is a wall that shifts subtly with the light throughout the day. It is durable, washable, breathable, and free of the flat repetition of paint. We apply it on feature walls, entire rooms, ceilings, curved surfaces, columns, fireplace surrounds, and cabinetry - anywhere a client wants a finish that carries the weight of natural material.
Every project is developed collaboratively with the client and designer: the color, the sheen level, the amount of movement in the surface, and how it integrates with the surrounding architecture. Because everything is applied by hand, the finish can be tuned from a nearly-flat matte through to a full high-polish spatolato.
